CoG up and running!

Today, September 2, 2025 the Center of Gravity members met together for the very first time as we had an all-center group meeting in meeting room Hb1 at Blegdamsvej. From the picture it is clear that the Center of Gravity is already a full-grown center with more than 30 people coming together today, and it was the perfect occasion to kick-start all the CoG activities, and to understand what the center is all about.
‘The Center of Gravity (CoG) is all of us and the great science we are about to produce’, said Center director, Prof. Vitor Cardoso, ‘and the Center of Gravity aims to become a European hub for gravitational research, where the most exciting puzzles are being solved, the most puzzling questions are being asked and the next generation of thinkers is being trained’.
After the meeting we walked over to our new lounge space which we have taken up in Building E to celebrate with a glass of champagne that the Center is now officially up and running.
On Friday, September 5, 2025, we will host the actual Inauguration with a festive event where the DNRF Director Niels Mejlgaard, DNRF Chairperson of the Board Dorthe Dahl-Jensen, Rector David Dreyer Lassen, Head of Department Joachim Mathiesen, the Portuguese Ambassador João Maria Cabral, and the Dutch Ambassador Nienke Trooster will all join in the afternoon for the Center of Gravity Inauguration.
Stay tuned for more updates on the exciting research that the Center of Gravity will produce.
